The Current member's filter option returns activities by members that are currently part of the segment, regardless of whether the activities occurred during members’ time in or outside of the segment.

In the example below, all of Kubo²’s activities are returned, while none of Jerome’s is, because Kubo² is currently part of the ‘Super Users’ segment, while Jerome is not. Notice that even the activities that happened while Kubo² was not part of the segment are returned (this is true even for activities that happened before the member entered the segment).

This works in the same fashion as if Kubo² had a manually assigned Super User Tag, and this tag would be used for filtering.

The Past member's affiliation option returns activities by members that are not currently part of the segment but once were, regardless of whether the activities occurred during members’ time in or outside of the segment.

In the example below, none of Kubo²’s activities is returned, while all of Jerome’s are because Jerome is a past member of the ‘Super Users’ segment, while Kubo² is a current member. Notice that even activities that occurred while Jerome was a part of the segment are returned (this is true even for activities that happened before the member entered the segment).

Segment filtering - affiliation (1).png

The Members over time affiliation option is probably the most interesting and useful one, as it returns only activities that occurred while the member was part of the segment, regardless of members’ current affiliation to the segment.

In the example below, only activities A, B, C, E & F are returned because they occurred while the member was part of the segment, but this is not connected in any way to the current affiliation of the member to the segment (these activities would be returned both if the member would be a current or a past member of the segment or not).
